This project started with a clear problem. The existing storm drain system had deteriorated to the point where it could no longer perform. Our team stepped up to remove MORE than 800′ of failing storm drain piping along with 10 outdated catch basins that were no longer doing their job.
After getting everything exposed, we got to work. Installing a brand new complete system. We replaced all catch basins with new, properly functioning units and installed 800 feet of corrugated metal pipe designed for strength and long-term reliability. Every piece of this system was built to improve water flow, reduce future maintenance, hold up under demanding conditions, and keep the people of Wilmington happy and safe!
One of the biggest challenges on this project was working around existing roadways. Certain sections of the old pipe were difficult to remove without disrupting surrounding infrastructure, so we coordinated with a specialized subcontractor to re-line approximately 200 feet of pipe. This allowed us to reinforce the system where full removal was not practical while still ensuring overall performance.
Throughout the project, we stayed focused on efficiency and coordination. Despite the constraints, we completed the entire job in just four weeks from start to finish. By combining hands-on excavation work with smart problem solving, we delivered a storm drainage system that is built to last and ready to handle the demands of the area.
